‘Unique Opportunities at Host Milano’

main PhotoMilan is already the undisputed fashion and design capital of the world, but from 23 to 27 October 2015 it will also be the global hub for the professional hospitality industry, featuring the food service, retail, large-scale distribution and hotel sectors. To get the inside track on this year’s event we spoke to Simona Greco, Exhibition Director Host Milano – Fiera Milano, first asking about the uniqueness of the 2015 event.

“Of course, the 2015 edition is a particularly important one because it is taking place during Expo 2015. Consequently, we have developed special synergies with the Expo to offer our exhibitors and visitors an even more complete experience. Our very rich calendar of events is testament to that.”

Third ParagraphThis will be a record edition for Host Milano. The exhibition will occupy almost the entire Fiera Milano fairgrounds in Rho, 14 halls out of 16, two more than in 2013, with the Middle East becoming an increasingly important market for the event, as Simona explains: “Buyers from the region are highly represented within our Hosted Buyer Programme, which includes more than 1500 top buyers from 60 countries, in a balanced mix of advanced and emerging economies.

Forth Paragraph“All international companies at Host Milano, including those from the Middle East, cannot only present their new products to an international audience, but they can also intercept new trends and share sector knowledge with the world’s most authoritative players, analysts and experts. Our events schedule is pivotal to this strategy and new events are introduced at every edition. This year, for example, we have a very original event called ‘Enjoy the Table’, organised in partnership with the Italian trade associations ALTOGA and ART, where food and coffee will meet aesthetics for an experience that involves all of the senses. Furthermore, we are featuring a completely renewed EXIHS, the future hospitality concept devised by architect Dante O. Benini, with a very innovative ‘edible garden’.

“An important strength of our fair is innovation. Host Milano is the place where international companies premiere their innovation every two years. Over previous editions, this has continually expanded from technology to formats, design, style and trends; and today, Host Milano is a trendsetter anticipating anything new that will happen over the next few years in the coffee, food and equipment sector,” Simona concludes.
