‘Sweet Temptations at Cake Gallery’

What’s not to love about cake? It’s a mainstay of life’s milestones – birthdays, weddings, and festivals, to name but three – as well as being a scrumptious everyday treat. And for those lucky people who live in Muscat or Sohar in the Sultanate of Oman, there is a local company with a passion for baking, making and creating stunning and delicious cakes for any occasion: that company is Cake Gallery!

Second Paragraph

“Cake Gallery was launched in 2010,” explains founder and Group CEO of the Al-Balushi Group, Mr. Hussain Al Lawati, “it initially started off as a hobby for my wife, Ms. Etab Al Zadjali who always insisted that her cakes should contain the very best ingredients. It’s a good philosophy, because the brand has become extremely popular. There are now five Cake Gallery outlets, plus a central kitchen, in Muscat, and one outlet in Sohar.”

Of course, as the first company in Oman to offer 3D and 4D cakes that are celebrated for their imaginative and artistic designs, Cake Gallery was bound to see a few competitors spring up. “Within a year, 10 new bakeries had opened in Muscat … although some of them closed pretty quickly again,” says Mr. Hussain.

Forth Paragraph

So why has Cake Gallery thrived and expanded whilst many of its competitors have fallen by the wayside? The answer is deceptively simple and revolves around the fact that Cake Gallery is not just ‘another’ bakery. Instead, it is a part of the local community, making friends with customers and ensuring that it produces spectacular cakes that leave a gorgeous taste in the mouth and set tongues wagging!

A cake is a fantastic way to make a great impression, and so is a good meal. That’s why the Al-Balushi Group has also recently opened Zeitoun, a fine dining restaurant located in Muscat that has quickly made a name for itself amongst local gastronomes.

Sixth Paragraph

Mr. Hussain takes up the story: “We opened in January 2016, and it has gone very well over the first couple of months. Wonderful hospitality is at the heart of what we do at Zeitoun, and naturally so is great food. In fact, we offer five distinct cuisines – Omani, Moroccan, Tunisian, Spanish and Italian. Why these five? It’s because in all of these cuisines olives are a vital ingredient. Zeitoun is Arabic means olive.”

last paragraph

When asked about the importance of designing and installing practical, high quality commercial kitchens, Mr. Hussain replied: “In both Zeitoun and the central kitchen for Cake Gallery, we turned to Al Halabi. We’ve been working with them for four years now, and they have always provided superior products and service. We will continue to use Al Halabi and are looking at opening another two or three outlets over the next couple of years,” he concludes.
