Nurai ‘Shoot for the Moon!’

If you’re in the Business Bay area of Dubai for any reason at all, make a beeline for Nurai, a restaurant that is noted not only for its menu, alive with colour, texture and remarkable flavours, but also its striking décor and the astonishing views out across the city.

Nurai, an old Arabic word that translates as ‘born under the bright moon’, is the perfect place for everything from an intimate dinner through to a private party or business meeting. A one-of-a-kind concept that combines both international cuisine and shisha, Nurai is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a broad array of dishes that benefit from the freshest ingredients, some of the city’s most talented chefs, and professional waiting staff who take great pride in their ability to make guests feel at home.

The choice of Lebanese-Oriental meals is truly mouth-watering, including appetising Saj such as oven-warmed Zaatar, melted Akkawi cheese, and locally sourced Halloumi cheese. The cold Mezza is another delight, prepared in the traditional way, but with an innovative twist: the Tabbouleh and Fattouch are standard vegetables, but the sauce evokes Lebanese heritage and traditions – close your eyes and you are in Beirut! The hot Mezza is mostly meat-based, slow roasted, giving the chefs time to create delicious stuffed Kebbe, Sambousek and Kawarma, topped with pine nuts, and fried spicy sausages that can be enjoyed with a side of crunchy pan fried potato cubes and flavoured chicken livers. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone. But whatever you choose, your taste buds will tingle for days!

“We can cater to around 200 diners,” explains Operations Manager Mr. Rami Assaf. “We have a large outdoor area too, and believe that we offer something truly different in a city that can offer every cuisine imaginable.

“Of course, when creating the restaurant we insisted on using only the finest contractors and suppliers; those we knew we could trust, and who would provide a proficient and cost-effective service. One of these companies was Al Halabi, which designed the layout of our kitchen and then supplied and installed all of the equipment and machinery. They were incredibly professional at all times and the advice and support given was invaluable.”

So if you haven’t visited Nurai yet, expect a stunning location, a dazzling interior, incredible views, wonderful service, and food that will have you returning again and again.
