‘Blue Camel ‘Great Interior Design for the Catering Industry’

Main PhotoThe restaurant experience is about far more than what’s on your plate, with the interior decor a high priority for any catering business.  This visual impact not only creates the all-important first impression, but also crafts the entire ambiance for the customer. Indeed, good interior design transforms people’s lives and, perhaps more importantly for the caterer, helps to optimise profit and performance.

Second ParagraphIt will come as no surprise, therefore, to discover that a large and growing number of restaurants and cafes in the UAE rely upon Blue Camel Design LLC (www.bluecamel.net), which, founded by two ambitious entrepreneurs, Bruno Nakad and Patrick Daniel, is genuinely different; not only does it know how to turn clients’ interior design dreams into reality, but it also understands their core technical and operational requirements and integrates them into their complete fit-out service offering.

“It all began more than 11 years ago,” explains Bruno. “Patrick and I grew up in Dubai and shared a vision: to start a creative design and fit-out company that was different to everything else in the emirate. In the beginning there was just the two of us, but today we employ around 250 people across the whole group and offer everything from interior design and development work through to joinery and bespoke woodworks, interior MEP design and implementation, system furniture, and much more besides.”

Forth ParagraphBlue Camel works across all sectors too, carrying out projects for a broad array of clients, including government entities such as Emirates Airlines, Dubai Airports and Dubai Customs. Its biggest market, though, is undoubtedly the food and beverage sector, with blue-chip clients such as “AWJ’s” restaurants like Awani, Bahria, Operation Falafel to name a few as well as other clients such as Eggspectation, I Love F Cafe, Manoushe Street, and Chalhoub’s, La Patesseries Des Reves and Aubaine.

“Whatever we are working on,” Bruno says, “we coordinate with other trades in order to ensure the safe, successful completion of a project. And one of our most trusted partners is Al Halabi, who we have been working with almost since day one. Synergies and partnerships are important in our business, and we enjoy a really close relationship with Al Halabi, one of the most respected names in the catering industry. The relationship has continued to grow too, as we have got to know them not only as a company, but as people.”

At the present time, Blue Camel is working on a number of prestigious projects, including two restaurants for The Shalom Group and an Operation Falafel outlet. “We are also active on a major project for Emirates Airlines, where we are working on their lounges at Dubai International Airport.  Currently, we are doing their Business Class lounge, and will be on-site for a while yet; it is a year-long project.”

It’s almost impossible not to be aware of Dubai today. It is one of the most exciting and vibrant places on earth, with Bruno concluding: “It’s absolutely thrilling to be working in the UAE at the moment; it’s very challenging, but it also gives us the opportunity to give our creativity free rein … and that’s what we’re really passionate about!”
